🇪🇸 Gracias a Steve Ham, amigo y compañero de nuestro Club NomadAir. "Diseño del cartel para la Pre PWC de este año en Piedrahíta, la ciudad donde vivo.. Esta es una pequeña explicación para los que conocen poco la relación entre Goya y la política de la Corte de principios del siglo XIX. Si has visitado Piedrahita, habrás visto el espléndido palacio de los duques de Alba. Goya, el famoso pintor español (dentro de la canasta) pasó muchos meses aquí junto a la Duquessa de Alba. Piedrahita en aquel momento se consideraba como una especie de segunda corte con muchos de los nobles de la época pasando el tiempo aquí. Además, figuran Fernando VII y Carlos III. Goya usualmente caricaturizaba un poco sus temas en sus retratos. Yo he llevado esa caricatura un poco más lejos."

"Cada año, hacia fines de junio, Piedrahita celebra su Fiesta Goyesca, donde muchas de las personas del pueblo se visten con trajes como estos. También hay concursos de pintura, mercados, etc. ¡ Y también es muy buena época del año para el vuelo en parapente!"

🇬🇧 Thanks to Steve Ham, friend and colleague of our Club NomadAir. "A poster design for this year's Pre PWC in my home town of Piedrahita. It may take a little explaining to those who have little knowledge of Goya and the Court politics of the early 1800s. If you have visited Piedrahita you will have seen the rather splendid palace of the Dukes of Alba. Goya the famous Spanish painter (in the basket) spend many months here alongside the Duquessa de Alba. Piedrahita at this time was considered as something of a 2nd court with many of the nobles of the time spending time here. Also, figured are Ferdinand VII and Carlos III. Goya usually caricatured his subjects a little in his portraits. I have taken that caricature a little further."

"Each year towards the end of June Piedrahita celebrates its Festival Goyesca where many of the village folk dress in costumes like these. There are also painting competitions, markets etc. It is also a very good time of the year for paragliding!"
